Labor Day…A Day To Be Cool and Rest

Since the very first celebration, Labor Day has been a time for families to relax and have fun.  Many of us hit the road to visit friends and family and attend barbecues, picnics and parades.

Labor Day Celebration

Labor Day, the first Monday in September, will soon be here.  Officially declared a national holiday on June 28, 1894, Labor Day honors the “contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”

Hot Weather Can Make For A Long Trip

This is also the time of year when temperatures can still soar and traveling with the family in a vehicle that needs A/C repair can make for a long three day weekend.

Several Reasons Your A/C May Not Be Working Properly

If your car, truck or van is not as cool as you think it should be, or your A/C just isn’t working at all, here are a few things that may be causing the problem.

Refrigerant Leaks
Refrigerant leaks in your vehicle’s A/C system are the No. 1 problem leading to poor AC performance.

Compressor Failures
A compressor can fail due to coolant leaks or just because the mechanical components wear out.

Condenser, Evaporator Don’t Work Properly
If either the condenser or evaporator malfunction, the air from your AC unit will not be as cool as you might expect.

Leaking Seals and Loose Hoses
Seals and hoses that come loose, develop cracks or become clogged for any reason, will lead to poor air flow.

Electronic Module Failure
If you can’t get the temperature inside the vehicle to set correctly then the electronic control module may be bad.
