Local Light Displays Brighten the Holidays

Red, green, blue and white Christmas lights can be seen throughout our neighborhoods and homes and brighten the holidays for all of us.  For our children these beautiful displays bring smiles and “oohs and ahhs” as the lights add to the spirit of the season.

Some Take It to the Next Level

There are individuals and communities that enjoy sharing their holiday spirit with others by creating elaborate Christmas light displays. In the central Indiana area there are several that rank as some of the best in Indiana.


Scott Alexander has decked out his home and yard with over 50,000 lights synchronized with nine different Christmas songs.

Located at 7820 W. Mulberry Jefferson Road in Mulberry and runs from Thanksgiving Day until New Year’s Day. All the details can be found at Mulberry Lights.


Kokomo’s Highland Park turns into a lighting extravaganza with nearly 50 holiday light displays.  Lights will remain on nightly at dusk through the end of the year.

You can also see Santa at Highland Park until December 24. Highland Park is located at 900 W Deffenbaugh St, Kokomo, IN 46902.

SHARPSVILLE (near Kokomo)

With large decorative teddy bears, penguins, a light up candy cane pinwheel, and other holiday characters, this holiday light display never disappoints. Find it at 422 W. Meridian Sharpsville, IN 46068.  Further details at Sharpsville Lights.

Visit downtown Elwood for a unique take on holiday lights. You’ll find the buildings completely decked and color coded with fantastic, vibrant lights. Christmas Carriage rides are also available at 1505 South B Street, Elwood, IN 46036.  See all that is offered at Downtown Elwood.


For a true wintry phenomenon you can venture to Indianapolis to view the spectacular Holiday Ice Tree.  Created every year since 1961 by the Veal family, it is worth the trip to see.  Details at Holiday Ice Tree.
